I know how to change the midi channels on all the synths and drum machines I am new to midi so I apologize in advance if these were dumb questions I am just at a loss trying to configure this set up and I am not even trying to change sounds or parameters via midi.

Should the Oxygen pro 61 (main controller) send on multiple midi channels? Can it do that? How can I switch the synths from the controller or select two or three to play at the same time? I am trying to figure it out but with all the synths on their own midi channels and individual midi outputs from the A-880. I would like to also have the sequencer play sequences on a few synths and trigger/sync the drum machine playback I don’t mind also switching presets on the A-880 separately I want to be able to play any of my synths individually or together from the main controller and select them in any combination. What I am able to do so far is: select midi input 3 (Oxygen Pro 61) and midi output 8 (Behringer Pro-1) on the A-880, then set the Main controller to midi channel 8 and play the Pro-1 which is set to midi channel 8.

Most of the synths are plugged into individual outputs from the A-880 into their midi in’sĪll the synths are on their own individual midi channels 3-11įor the drum machine I am not sure if I should plug it into the input 1 and output 1 of the A-880 or just the second midi out from the Yamaha QX3 into the midi in on the drum machine which is set to midi channel 10? The Yamaha QX3 Sequencer has one midi in from the A-880 output 4 and the midi out to the A-880 input 4, it still has a second midi out So far I have the Main Controller (oxygen Pro61) Plugged into the Roland A-880 input 3 and sending midi channel 8 I am having trouble trying to hook all this up. Record sequences into the sequencer from the main controller to play on different synths. Program beats on the drum machine itself. I would like to play all my synths as needed from one controller. I used to run from synth to synth and play each individually with multiple midi keyboards and record one track at a time into a DAW. I have 2 drum machines, An expanded Roland TR8 because I like the sounds, A Yamaha RX11 because it has a song mode and 12 individual outs (why couldn’t the TR8 have those!?)Īll the Synths and a stereo out from the Yamaha drum machine run into a mixer that goes to two powered PA speakers for reference when jamming/composing.
